Assembly of the Cunning Cat |
|
The assembly of Cunning Cat takes about 4 hours for 2 people. Nine easy
steps are as follows: |
|
Firstly, the hulls are separated by operating the hydraulic
trailer folding system, then the 2 main alloy cross beams are bolted down, |
Second, the for and aft saloon seats (carried on the
roof of the towing vehicle) are fixed in position followed by fitting of
7 cross beams under the saloon /cockpit floor. These are fixed at each
end to for /aft composite angles permanently fixed to the inner skin of
the hulls. Following this, |
Third: the 2 part trampoline floor is laced up on the
cockpit centerline, a velcro flap seals this. |
Fourth: the net is then clipped to the area forward
of the main cross beam and the bow. |
Fifth: the cockpit roof is fitted with its 2 cross battens
and 3 for and aft battens, the rear wall, door and window is then zipped
into place finishing the saloon enclosure. |
Sixth: If required, the saloon table, seat and cushions
are fitted last. |
Seventh: the outboard motor and controls are fitted
to the rear beam, plug in the electric's and fresh water plumbing, add
cushions to the rear cockpit seat to complete the cockpit area. |
Eigth: The cross bar is then fitted to the rudders.
At this point the boat can be launched. |
Ninth: The rig biplane consists of 2 main masts, 2 main
sails with wishbone booms, tapered composite cross bar between wishbones,
2 jibs, 2 back stays, 2 side stays, tapered composite upper spreader bar
between the masts, two main sheets and two jib sheets. |
|
