It's the little things,
that makes our aircraft the very best Australia has to offer

Safety Catches

The 2 upper door hinges (shown in the photo below) that secure the SP-2000's 2 gull-wing doors, are removable.
In the event of an accidental aircraft roll-over, the hinges  ( and doors) can be removed by pulling the safety pin and pushing the doors outwards, instructions for this (hopefully never to be used safety or emergency feature) are detailed in the flight manual and also on placards near the pins located  above the pilot and passengers heads.

We believe that its this sort of detailed attention to safety that sets us apart from other imports, particularly low wing aircraft that have the large clear bubble type cockpit canopies. While such canopies provide great un-obstructed visibility, they can also let in unwanted and health damaging sunlight and in an accidental roll-over, the aircraft's occupants may be left with on possibility of exiting their inverted aircraft.

With both the SP-2000 and -4000, pilots and passengers are protected by a fully welded safety cage and as described above, the doors can be removed in an emergency situation.

The safety cage and roof structure also give the SP-2 & 4000's  fuselage a 5 fold increase in strength as all structural and aerodynamic loads are reacted not only by the side structure of the fuselage but also by safety frame.  You could compare our aircraft to a family sedan car, sure a sporty convertible  car can be fun but when it comes to safety,  we believe our aircraft owners need a roof over their heads.

Removable Safety Catches on the SPEED

The SP-2 & 4000's  roof provides both shade, safety and comfort while the heat formed windscreen and 4 windows provide excellent 300 degree  visibility. The 2 gull-wing doors can be opened while taxing with the aircraft's speed limited to 10 kts, cross-wind limitations also apply but on a hot day this can let in fresh air on landing or prior to takeoff. While flying, the cockpit has a 4 point adjustable fresh air ventilation system ( 6  or 8 point for the SP-4000 ) for occupant comfort, heating is standard.
4 point seatbelts are standard in the SP-2000.

A multiple interlocking door retention safety locking system.

Energy Recovery Ducting System
Composite semi-laminar wheel fairings. Adding three to four knots to the cruise and improves the already impressive rate of climb. They are not available on S-LSA aircraft.
The SPEED uses a fully molded flexible honeycomb cored energy recovery fuselage fairing.
